The Nainital Zoo is a high-altitude zoo located on the Sher Ka Danda hill at a height of 2,100m or 6900 ft above sea level. The zoo is spread over a green area of 4.6 hectares or 11 acres. It was established in 1984 and was opened to visitors in the year 1995.
